They say the more you know, the more you grow. I've noticed that personally these last few years of my life have truly been about personal growth. And I'm talking personal growth in all facets of my life. Sometimes we don't even realize how far we've come or how much we've grown until we are put in a situation that tests our "grown-ness," if you will.
Personally, I've grown in my communication skills. There was a time when I would become silent in the face of conflict or not speak up when I had something to say. A new level of personal growth is realizing the importance of effective communication and understanding how valuable your input can be.
Listen, personal growth is a step towards knowing yourself. And I'm talking wayyy deeper than what you like and dislike. I'm talking a level of self knowledge and self love that shines with confidence from the inside out. It is imperative (like a MUST) that we take steps towards personal growth daily. I'm currently on the chapter of my life where I rid myself of people that bring me down.
You know, when you get to know yourself and you start to shine from within, not everyone will be happy for you. Those are the folks that you direct to the nearest exit. And yes, I know, sometimes those folks happen to be people you are really close to. Been there, Done that. But I promise, the benefits of this release will outweigh any thoughts you're having about keeping them around.
So if you need a little help in the self-growth department, try one, or two or all of these:
Surround yourself with beautiful people
Avoid comparing yourself to folks on social media
Try a new hobby
Actively listen (to yourself and others)
Let go of the past
But please, know this, personal growth and development are lifelong processes. It's really levels to this thing we call a 'level up.' As we grow we understand ourselves more and get closer to reaching our fullest potential. Always remember to keep an open mind and a desire to learn, grow and flourish.
I hope this write up finds you well and in a receptive headspace. I always tell my readers to take what you need and leave the rest for your neighbors. We're all in this together. I am she and she is me. Lets water each other and watch the growth.
